About This Project
Lygon St Nursery loved working on this balcony and courtyard. You can almost see this Brunswick East landscape design project from the front window of our shop.
Splinter Society designed The Squeezebox and the Enameller Multi Res building and the client engaged Lygon St Nursery to include some of the details from the building in the outdoor spaces.The client also wanted somewhere nice and relaxing to sit and read a book.
Firstly, we softened the brick walls with the spotted gum batten timbers and built a custom seat to suit the shape of the balcony. So, now it provides a little reading nook in the corner of the balcony.
We also included a concrete formed bench to provide a small space for the BBQ.
Downstairs, we planted ferns and shade plants in the courtyard next to the bathroom. They provide a green backdrop that can be seen immediately as you walk through the front door. As a result, it draws you in and through the space.
