About This Project
The award winning Alphington house, designed by Walter and Walter and built by Fido Projects celebrates natural and raw materials. As a result, it sits nicely in the surrounding landscape.
The house was the perfect canvas for Lygon St Nursery to share a love of the bush with the clients.
In this Alphington landscape design project we incorporated a native Australian and New Zealand bush theme. We planted Australian and New Zealand native plants, to reflect the clients’ cultural connection to the their past and present place.
Lygon St Nursery undertook project management, design development and construction of all the green spaces.
The produce garden, decking and lawn areas were important functional aspects of the garden. The unique driveway with strips of planting As a result, the planting softens the architecture and hard edges. Although the house is surrounded by suburbia, green views make you feel as though you’re in the heart of the bush.
